Graduated in Agronomic Sciences in Milan in 1986, in 1990 she joined the UNDP in the areas of Local Development and Crisis.
Her experience is centered around South and Central America, Southern Africa, and the Middle East. Since 1998, she has held the position of Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) for programmes related to local development. She has worked as a senior advisor on local economic policies (Human Development Programme at the Local Level, ART Programme) in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Mozambique, Kosovo, Dominican Republic.

In 2014, she became the Senior Advisor for the portfolio of Social and Local Development at the UNDP in Lebanon, and the CTA of the Lebanon Host Communities Support Programme, supporting fundraising and program management of the larger response of UNDP Lebanon to the impact of the Syrian crisis at the municipal level.
