Farid Yaker is an international expert in sustainable public procurement.
He has over 30 years of experience in sustainable development and sustainable procurement at the service of institutions and research players committed to the achievement of the sustainable development goals.
He worked over 14 years as a permanent at UN Environment Programme on sustainable public procurement.
Mr. Yaker taught Agricultural economics at the University of Blida, Algeria from 1988 to 1990 before joining the international NGO Enda (Environmental Development Action) after the Rio summit that he attended in 1992. Mr. Yaker managed an international programme on the promotion of participatory approaches in the field of urban environment from 1994 till 1999. He was the head of the European office of Enda from 2000 till 2007.
