The Syrian civil war has made the country the greatest tragedy of the century, inducing a devastating nine-year humanitarian crisis and a regional refugee influx. The crisis destabilized the country’s economic outlook, hindering growth and affecting socio-economic, cultural, political discourses.
This paper discusses the impact of the Syrian war and international sanctions on its economic outlook and the domino effect witnessed on neighboring countries, Lebanon in particular.
