النفط والنمو الاقتصادي في مصر

This study attempts to assess the oil and natural gas sector in Egypt using SWOT analysis. It considers the impact of oil prices on the economic activity in Egypt, using annual data sets between 1991 and 2010, and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL). Even though Egypt has been a net exporter of oil in the last few decades, oil prices have had an adverse impact on economic growth. This is attributed to the huge government subsidies on petroleum products that reached LE 134 billion in 2013-2014. it is hoped that the findings of this paper will be useful both to policy-makers and private petroleum companies operating in Egypt.
