Civil society organizations (CSOs) are key to advancing transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in Lebanon’s budget process.
Building on earlier training on the legal and institutional framework specifically designed for CSOs activists by the Institute of Finance Basil Fuleihan and UNICEF, this workshop seeks to move from theory to practice by equipping CSOs with participatory budgeting tools and exposing them to the experiences of peers that were able to advance public engagement in the budget process.
In the face of Lebanon’s fiscal and governance challenges, the objective of this workshop is to strengthen CSOs’ knowledge and skills to apply practical methodologies, draw lessons from regional practices, and identify concrete entry points for effective engagement in national and municipal budget processes.
This workshop organized in collaboration with UNICEF targets Lebanese civil society organizations (NGOs, advocacy groups, regulators, youth groups, etc.) and government observers (Ministry of Finance, Parliament, municipalities).
